Heather McClendon, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. With specialized expertise in psychiatric medication management and substance use treatment, she takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach to helping individuals navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, sleep difficulties, and addiction.
As a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse–Advanced Practice (CARN-AP), Heather has advanced training in the complex relationship between mental health and substance use disorders. She believes in treating the 'whole person'—not just symptoms—through comprehensive evaluations, thoughtful medication management, supportive therapy, and individualized treatment planning tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. Heather understands that many individuals silently struggle with chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, burnout, and relationship strain while continuing to manage the demands of daily life. She is committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. Her goal is to help individuals build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and achieve meaningful, lasting change. Heather is currently accepting new patients at SEKMHC.
