Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center Expands Mental Health Services in Linn County
MOUND CITY, KS – Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center (SEKMHC) is pleased to announce the expansion of its services in Linn County with the acquisition of a new facility located at 223 E. Main Street, Mound City, KS.
This expansion represents a significant step forward in SEKMHC’s mission to enhance access to comprehensive mental health care for individuals and families in the region. The new location will provide the community with a welcoming and convenient environment to access the services they need and complements SEKMHC’s existing location in Linn County at 505 W. Fifteenth, Pleasanton, KS, reinforcing our commitment to providing comprehensive mental health services throughout the region. With facilities in Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Linn, Neosho, and Woodson counties, SEKMHC continues to prioritize high-quality care tailored to the needs of Southeast Kansas residents.
“Our goal is to make mental health care accessible and effective for everyone in Linn County and beyond,” said Nathan Fawson, CEO. “The addition of this Mound City location reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for services and creating stronger, healthier communities.”
This expansion also aligns with SEKMHC’s ongoing efforts to integrate mental health and primary care services. In July 2023, SEKMHC acquired Ashley Clinic and has since been working to expand primary care offerings within our service area. Most recently expanding primary care in Iola this previous March with the addition of Dr. Tim Spears, DO, Leigh Scharff, APRN-C, and Justin Roach, APRN-NP-C. This initiative exemplifies SEKMHC’s vision of whole-person care, addressing both physical and mental health needs.
The Mound City location will serve as a hub for expanded mental health services, housing a mental health therapist and community-based services. To schedule an appointment, please call 913-795-7534.
